The Loyal Subjects 2025 SDCC Exclusive Reveal Coming June 24 - Will It Be For M.A.S.K.?!?

by Jay Cochran
June 18, 2025
The Loyal Subjects today announced they will be attending SDCC this year with a booth #2544 and a panel. They also state they will be officially revealing their SDCC exclusive next week on June 24.

Based on overseas listings we should be seeing a variant of their M.A.S.K. Rhino Mobile Defense Unit vehicle. While no images have been released at this time (The image below is a mock up and not of an actual product), the description for the Comic-Con exclusive version says it will have a metallic-effect paint finish. Also besides including figures of Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato like the regular version, the exclusive is said to also include figures of Matt's son Scott Trakker and his faithful robot T-Bob, which in the originally Kenner line was sold as a 2-pack.

We will be sure to update you when more details become available next week.

Oooh... That's news!??

I'd be surprised to see them add a new line at this point, but it'd be a welcome surprise.

It has been rumored for months to be a vac-metal Rhino with 2 figures and for $170.

I've been so excited about someone finally doing MASK figures. I had MASK bed spread and curtains as a kid. This and Thundarr the Barbarian I've been begging someone to make. Im actually surprised MASK got made first(the older Thundarr figures are just too outdated).

Sometimes the copyrights on names lapse, and when a company wants to use it again, they can't because another company is using it for something else. I say sometimes, but it's really a very common occurrence.

Yeah, I know, hence the suggested "M.A.S.K's Rhino" etc rather than complaining about it not just being "Rhino". We've seen Hasbro get around this issue plenty in recent years with "Autobot Jazz" or "Clayton 'Hawk' Abernathy". The question is why they *didn't* do that here or even just rename them to something similar (the "Shockwave/Shockblast" situation) and instead go with super generic names rather than something that builds the IP up.

We really couldn't get "M.A.S.K's Rhino" or "V.E.N.O.M's Switchblade" instead of these weak, generic name substitutes? Have we learnt nothing from the past couple of decades of Transformers and G.I. Joe renames?

Some of these MASK effects come off very very goofy, which only makes me love them more. I mean, half of them look like their eyeballs are exploding or they're getting shot in the face. It's fantastic.
